• Send Instagram DM buttons: You can now include up to 3 buttons on Instagram direct messages sent through either send endpoint, using instagram.buttons. Buttons can either open a URL or send a postback with a custom id, letting you build simple in-chat menus and calls to action.
• Receive button taps as messages: When a customer taps a button, it now arrives as a normal inbound message with the button's title as content and an interaction of type button, so you can handle taps the same way you already handle quick reply taps. Previously these taps were silently dropped.
• Scheduled and retried sends keep their buttons: Buttons are stored with the message, so scheduled messages and retried sends include the same buttons as the original request.
• Action needed for existing Instagram connections: To start receiving button taps, enable the "messaging_postbacks" webhook field for your app in the Meta App Dashboard. New connections made after this release enable it automatically.
• Demo inbox supports buttons: The demo inbox now includes a buttons editor when composing or starting a conversation, and displays sent buttons and taps directly in the thread.
